(Words and music by Richard Smallwood)

Seems like only yesterday
That your laughter filled the air
And whatever I was going through
You were always there
How you gave of all your
love and time to those who were in need
In my heart, you'll always be a part of me.
Though sometimes it's hard
to deal with you not being here
I rejoice that you have
reached that place of peace
Where there is no fear
Heaven has become a little sweeter
Just because you're there
And we'll meet again in that place
So bright and fair

[Chorus:]
I'll see you again
where the sun is always shining.
I'll see you again
Where sorrows are no more
Where we'll join hands together
till we sit around God's throne
can't hardly wait till the day
I'll see you again

[Chorus]

Till we meet
Till we meet
Till we meet
At Jesus' feet
Til we meet
Till we meet again
God be with you
Till we meet again

Always you will be part of me
And I will forever feel your strength
When I need it most
Youre gone now, gone but not forgotten
I can't say this to your face
But I know you hear

Chorus:
Ill see you again
You never really left
I feel you walk beside me
I know Ill see you again
When Im lost, when Im missing you like crazy
I tell myself Im so blessed
To have had you in my life, my life

Chorus:
Ill see you again
You never really left
I feel you walk beside me
I know Ill see you again
When I had the time to tell you
Never thought Id live to see the day
When the words I should have said
Would come to haunt me
In my darkest hour I tell myself
Ill see you again

Chorus:
Ill see you again
You never really left
I feel you walk beside me
I know Ill see you again
Someday I'll see you again
Ill see you again
You never really left
I feel you walk beside me
I know Ill see you again
I'll see you again
Ill see you again
I miss you like crazy
Youre gone but not forgotten
Ill never forget you
Someday Ill see you again
I feel you walk beside me
Never leave you, yeah
Gone but not forgotten
I feel you by my side
No this is not goodbye x 3

I'll see you again
Whenever spring breaks through again
Time may lie heavy between
But what has been
Is past forgetting

This sweet memory
Throughout my life will come to me
Though my world may go awry
In my heart will ever lie
Just the echo of a sigh
Goodbye

Learning scales will never seem so sweet again
Till our destiny shall let us meet again
The will of fate
May come too late
When I'm recalling these hours we've had

Why will the foolish tears
Tremble across the years?
Why should I feel so sad
Treasuring the memories
Of these days, always, always

I'll see you again
When ever spring breaks through again
Time may lie heavy between
But what has been
Can leave me never

Your dear memory
Throughout my life will come to me
Though my world has gone awry
Though the years my tears may dry
I shall love you till I die
Goodbye

What have the artists said about the song?

In an introduction to a volume of his songs, Coward described the process of creating this song:

‘I’ll See You Again’ came to me whole and complete in a taxi when I was appearing in New York in [the stage show] This Year of Grace. I was on my way home to my apartment after a matinee and had planned, as usual, to have an hour’s rest and a light dinner before the evening performance. My taxi got stuck in a traffic block on the corner of Broadway and 7th Avenue, klaxons were honking, cops were shouting, and suddenly in the general din there was the melody, clear and unmistakable. By the time I got home the words of the first phrase had emerged.. I played it over and over again on the piano (key of E-flat as usual) and tried to rest, but I was too excited to sleep.

What is the message of the song See You Again?

"See You Again" is an ode to a lifetime of friendship and closeness.

Who was See You Again written for?

Puth shot to fame earlier this year when he teamed up with Khalifa to write "See You Again" for "Furious 7." The song was dedicated to the franchise's late star Paul Walker, who tragically died in a car accident in November 2013 before filming for "Furious 7" was complete.

Is See You Again based on a true story?

The scene is fictional, the song, less so. Puth composed “See You Again” in memory of actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in November 2013 shortly after filming Furious 7.

Who is Paul from the song See You Again?

“See You Again” was released in March 2015 as part of the Furious 7 soundtrack. The track is a tribute to the film franchise's late star Paul Walker, who died in a single-vehicle car accident in 2013. It was used in the final scene of the film, as Walker's character drives off into retirement to focus on his family.
