iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 are getting a big price cut on Amazon amid the Great Freedom Festival sale. Both phones come with more or less similar specifications, but the newer iPhone 13 model comes with a slightly different back design and a relatively powerful A15 Bionic chipset. That doesn't mean that the iPhone 12 isn't worthwhile, and this may create confusion among buyers. In that case, we'll first look at the price difference and then talk about the specifications, and what suits you the best.
During the Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale, the iPhone 12 (128GB) is available for Rs 60,900 (MRP Rs 69,900), and customers can choose between Purple and White colours. The iPhone 13 is retailing at Rs 68,900 against the MRP of Rs 79,900. It comes in Red, Blue, Green, Black, White, and Pink colours. Readers must note that Amazon is offering some sale offers to further lower the current price tag. Buyers can also trade in their old Android and iOS smartphones to get an exchange value of up to Rs 12,750.
iPhone 12 vs iPhone 13: Which one should you get?
Performance-wise, the iPhone 13 is undoubtedly better, and even the Geekbench benchmark shows a clear difference. In the single and multi-core tests, iPhone 12 scored 1,572 and 3,865 points, respectively. The iPhone 13 scored 1,739 and 4,702 points, respectively. However, most users will not notice differences at first, but the phone may get slow after software updates. From personal experience, iPhone 12 has not gotten slower following the iOS 15 software update. However, its battery backup has been reduced slightly. The iPhone 13 ships with iOS 15 out of the box and carries a bigger battery unit.
In terms of display, both phones feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The notch on the iPhone 13 is smaller, but it doesn't make a big difference.
The camera specifications of both devices are the same, but the iPhone 13 comes with more features. For instance, there's a cinematic mode on iPhone 13 to let users capture videos with a blurry background. It is essentially a portrait mode for videos.
Overall, the iPhone 13 is better than iPhone 12 in many areas, so if it is within your budget, choose the newer model. iPhone 12 is ideal for older customers because their app-usage requirements are lower. If your priority is cameras, you should check out iPhone 13 over iPhone 12.
