This is a well-built cabin filter. It's not rocket science, but the light grey element uses carbon particles to filter air contaminants with odor. The foam seal at the unit's upper edge closes the unit inside its bay with enough toughness able to last without tearing. I have purchased other lesser units with foam seals that could not perform as well.
After 4 months, I removed the first unit from the two pack and saw it had captured a good amount of dust and contaminants. It seems the units are passively doing their job as they sit inside their glove compartment frames. At 50% less than the retail prices in our town, these units are quite acceptable for our CX-5. Will buy again. AAA+++ rating !

Lo instalé sin problema en el auto, la forma y tamaño es el mismo al que ocupa mi Mazda, sin embargo el grosor del papel del filtro y el plástico se siente de una calidad un poco inferior a la que tenía anteriormente (que compré en Mazda). Pero ya comparando uso y funcionamiento, la ventilación la noto mucho más fresca y ya no huele a silicón (o vinagre) cuando lo echo a andar, manejando solo en un día de 32 a 35 grados no subo de la tercer rayita en los controles de AC. Lo que más me encanta es que es mucho más barato que el de agencia y prácticamente cualquier persona lo puede cambiar, no se requieren herramientas.

It took me only a minute to install the new filter. The filter is inside the passenger space, behind the glove box. Very easy to remove the old one and install the new. These filters are very similar to the OEM that I replaced at a fraction of the price.

Update: 2 years later, the only "problem" I have is that the Mazda dealer keeps flagging the filter as "dirty" because it is gray in colour. I keep telling them no, it just looks like that out of the box. LOL

Filter looks identical to the OE filter at a fraction of the price. These cabin filters have become the latest quick grab for money at dealerships. For years cabin filters didn't exist and we were all fine. My F150, which I purchased new in 2010 didn't come with one and I haven't noticed any difference between my truck cab or our Mazda cabin with of without the filters. If I am going to replace these cabin filters, at least getting them at a reasonable price helps.
