From its fascinating history and museums to its parks, theaters, restaurants, bars, hotels and shops, San Antonio truly has something for everyone.

San Antonio, Texas: Excellent Outdoor Recreation Vacation

A Theme Park City

I love a good thrill ride, so I began my day at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, an exciting and super-fun theme park just 15 minutes from downtown. I rode the Boomerang roller coaster and the Scream ride, which features a 62-meter drop. So exciting! When visiting this park, you should pack a swimsuit so that you can enjoy the water slides and pools.

Something a bit quieter, but just as fun, is to learn more about marine life at SeaWorld San Antonio, where you can watch all kinds of aquatic animals up close and even touch them. It’s exciting to get close to seals and dolphins and get soaked by a whale!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there is a park designed for people with disabilities and their families in San Antonio. Morgan's Wonderland is a park where you can enjoy a safe, secure and clean environment with no barriers to stop you from having a great time.

Culture, History and Recreation Go Together in San Antonio

The River Walk is a unique and wonderful place to visit. The San Antonio River crosses right through the center of the city, a few meters below street level. Traveling along its paths, you can visit the Museum Reach section in the northern part of the River Walk that features immaculately landscaped grounds and public art. A section of the River Walk to the south features kilometers of hiking and biking trails and access to the lock and dam.

The River Walk also unites several historical, commercial and cultural institutions, including the San Antonio Museum of Art and the Pearl Brewery area, originally constructed in 1881. The old brewery and restored stables now house one of the only three campuses of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA); the rest of the old brewery has been converted into restaurants, shops and hotels.

The vibrant River Walk area is famous for its variety of restaurants and entertainment along the river. You can even navigate it via guided boat tours.

Thanks to the huge diversity of things to do, there is no doubt that San Antonio is a great destination for you, offering theme parks, excellent dining, cultural areas, pampering resorts and a river full of entertainment.
