We no longer accept personal checks for payment.

We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Discover) and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.

Testimonials and Reviews

Having a CareCredit card allows me to take my 2 dachshunds to the vet for their annual check-up. For the last 2 years, I had to put one of my dogs on the back burner and just take one - but this year, I took both within a week of each other, because I could pay each month with CareCredit.

Suzanne M.

I got my card when I had an emergency with one of my horses. I had a vet bill that was rather large and I used my card to help pay that bill. Just today, I have put my card to use again. Another horse, another emergency and another vet bill. It has helped me when things were tight.

Mary L.

I rescued an 8-week-old puppy and the next day when I woke up, he had declined in health overnight. Because of CareCredit, my puppy is alive, and he will have the chance to live a long life. I could not be more grateful for this company.

Ashley C.

Having CareCredit has been my go-to for all my vet appointments. I have 4 dogs and now 2 new kittens. I love them all dearly, and having this card helps ease my mind when paying the bill.

Dot S.

They say 40 is the new 30. My new 30 began last July. My wife surprised me with a gift that loved me back. A Olde Bulldog whose name is Bubba Lunchbox. He is a handful, but with CareCredit his medical bills are easy to handle and very stress free.

Jason H.

Having CareCredit was a lifesaver for our family. Our new puppy had been injured by another dog and was sent to a University Hospital for emergency surgery. Had it not been for CareCredit I don't know what we would have done. He is now almost 1 year old and is as happy and healthy as ever.

Angie B.

My cat Austin had gotten very sick and was in desperate need of emergency veterinary care. It was literally a lifesaver that I had a CareCredit account. I was able to conveniently finance the care and medications he needed to survive. I have recommended CareCredit to my friends and family for their healthcare and veterinary needs. Thank you.

Crystal B.

Do vets have to offer payment plans?

Credit-based payment plans Some vets offer payment plans through a credit company if you need help spreading the cost. Not every vet can offer this, but it's worth asking if this is an option. To decide if signing up for a payment plan is right for you, please contact: The Money Advice Service.

Can the vet keep my cat if I can't pay?

IF THE AMOUNT DUE FOR VETERINARY SERVICES HAS NOT BEEN PAID WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER THE PAYMENT HAS BECOME DUE, A VETERINARIAN MAY KEEP AN ANIMAL AFTER TREATMENT AND THE ANIMAL IS THEN CONSIDERED LIENED. A LIEN IS THE RIGHT TO HOLD ANOTHER'S PROPERTY UNTIL THE DEBT ON IT IS PAID.

What credit score is needed for Scratchpay?

Scratchpay looks a number of factors when evaluating your profile. Some of our factors to consider are: Credit score: we encourage our applicants to have above a 580 credit score for best chance of approval! Your age: we love pet owners of all ages, but you must be at least 18 years old to apply.

Will a vet see a dog without money?

Fortunately, there are dozens of free and low-cost options for veterinary care throughout the United States. Many charitable organizations offer reduced or free care for basic services and vaccinations. Additionally, it's always worth a shot to ask your local veterinary clinic about any promotions they're running.
