If you love Planned Parenthood and want to come to our health centers, we accept many different types of insurance and offer a variety of payment options to patients.

Not insured?

We can help enroll you in state funded programs at our health centers if you qualify. 

Not a U.S. citizen or legal resident?

You can still receive care from Planned Parenthood. You may qualify for low- or no-cost services under state programs, or you may self-pay for your services.

Public/State Insurance 

The followings state insurance types are accepted at our health centers: 

  • Medi-Cal (FFS)
  • Presumptive Eligibility (PE)
  • Medicare (FFS)
  • Family PACT (FPACT)

If you are uninsured, you may be able to receive no-cost health services through state funded programs.  Our front desk staff can help you enroll in state programs at our health centers. If you are eligible, we can enroll you at the time of your appointment and you will receive services immediately.  

Private Insurance

The following Preferred Provider Network (PPO) insurances are accepted in network:

  • Blue Shield of California 
  • Aetna
  • Oscar
  • Other PPO insurance if patient has out of network benefits. 

The following Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) insurance is accepted in network.

  • Kaiser Permanente (Abortion services only) 

We recommend checking with your insurance plan before your visit to make sure the service you need is covered at Planned Parenthood, and to learn what visit costs (such as a co-pay or deductible) you might be responsible for.

If you are covered under another person’s health plan in California, like your parents or your spouse, your insurance company may send payment information about your visit to your home address. However, you may request that your health insurance plan ensure your health information stays private and secure.

Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (MCPs)

The following insurance types are accepted for coverage of sensitive services* under the CA mandate:

  • LA Care
  • Health Net Medi-Cal
  • Blue Cross Medi-Cal
  • Blue Shield Promise
  • Molina 

*Sensitive services means those services that are defined as services related to sexual assault, substance or alcohol abuse, pregnancy, family planning, and sexually transmitted diseases for members 12 years of age and older.

Additional Payment Options

You can always pay for your services with cash, credit card, or flexible spending accounts (FSA).

At PPPSGV we also offer sliding scale payment options, meaning based on your income, you may qualify for reduced prices on certain services.

*Even though we are contracted with these providers, like all medical providers, we can't know how your claim will be processed.  Please call your insurance company if you are unsure what services are covered under you plan, your deductible, or your coinsurance.

Non-Contracted (out-of-network)

  • We happily bill non-contracted/out of network insurance companies. However, because we do not know how your claim will be paid, we ask that you pay our "prompt pay" discounted price for your visit while you are here.
  • We will refund you any amount paid by your insurance company for our services. We know this seems complicated, but it is the best way to save you money.
