Back Social Security provides retirement, disability,
and survivor benefits to workers and their dependents. If you get benefits now but you’ve moved, you must change the mailing address you use for your benefits. If you’ve moved, even if you’re not getting benefits now, you may still want to change your address. If you got or applied for benefits in the past, this change will ensure you get other notices from Social Security. You can change the mailing address for your Social Security benefits and information at any
time, including after a disaster. If you get Social Security benefits or have Medicare, you can change your address online. To make the change online, you must first create a personal my Social Security account. You may also call or visit a local office to make the change. If any of the following apply to you, you must call or visit a local office to change your address: Use our Office Locator to find the phone number of a local office near you. You can find our safety protocols on the COVID-19 page. Read “Getting Help from Social Security.” If you are outside the U.S., you can find contact information on the
Office of Earnings & International Operations page. If you want to learn about other benefits and options, visit the Social Security website. If you get SSI, do not have a U.S. mailing address, or are unable to change your address online, you can call us, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday:
- 1-800-772-1213
- TTY 1-800-325-0778
If you do not receive Social Security benefits, SSI or Medicare, you do not need to change your address with us.
