i have a 01 z/28 m6 and im starting to have rear end problems. i know of a s10 zq8 rear end with 3.73 gears. the guy will give me the rear end free of charge. i was wanting to see if any of you guys know if this rear end will work on my f-body. and if so does anyone know if these are posi-track rear ends. your replys are greatly appreciated. thanks -clay

While they are both 10 bolt rear ends, the S10 is a different width, and has leaf spring mounts rather than the shock/spring mounts that our cars have. They also lack a torque arm bracket, so there is nowhere to mount the torque arm.

correct me if I'm wrong, but are the S10's a 7.5 like the f-bodys? if so, you should be able to use the guts out of it in your rearend.

Only the ZR2's had the 8.5" 10-bolt and they have a limited slip diff and are wider. I have heard they are only about 1-2" difference in length vs the F-body 10-bolt...but still no torque arm mount.

uncorrect. I had a 8.5" in my 2WD Sonoma. You could get the 8.5" in a non ZR2 package, but you are correct about the mounts/brackets.
Ironic my 175hp truck came with the 8.5", but my 350hp car comes with the 7.625" rear.
