When does the day before come out

The Day Before, an upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie MMO, just got new a new gameplay trailer. The latest look at the game also gives us a release date of June 2022 for PC, with a plan to bring it to console sometime later.

Since its announcement, The Day Before has been compared to a bunch of popular titles, like The Division 2, The Last of Us, Days Gone, and even Snowrunner with its accurate offroad traverse mud physics. With the recent trailer, the developer once again shows off what will be included in the game. There's plenty to choose from, as we're taken through everything from looting and crafting, to shooting zombies in the head and crushing them with your vehicle.

The Day Before's vast open-world can be navigated either on foot or by car without any loading screens. The team is focusing on creating an abandoned New York City and its surroundings, but you will also be able to explore small settlements outside of that area. We still don't know how exactly the game's mission structure will work, however, we do know that you can choose whether to play solo, jump into PvE co-op activities, or head up straight to the dangerous but rewarding PvP-mode.

As seen in the new trailer, you can move from the street shootouts to the big shopping malls anytime in The Day Before, fighting the Infected and cleaning out shelves from valuables. Your items can later be used in crafting, sold to merchants, or used as a decoration for your own hideout somewhere deep in the farmlands. Not sure why you'd need a fancy new smartphone out there, though.

The Day Before's latest trailer also seemingly revealed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game are in development, aiming for an unspecified release window. Therefore, the open-world survival won't be a cross-generational title on console, which is hardly a surprise considering the game's solid visuals and huge open spaces.

If things will go according to plan, be prepared to explore The Day Before on 21 June 2022 on PC via Steam.

Publisher MyTona and developer Fntastic surprised quite a lot of people with the impressive announcement and initial showing of open world zombie survival MMO The Day Before earlier this year. Originally announced just for PC and due out sometime in 2021, the game’s received its next big update (courtesy of IGN), and announced a few changes to its release schedule.

For starters, its PC release date has now been announced, and as suspected, the game’s been pushed back by a few months. It will now launch for PC on June 21 next year. Meanwhile, new gameplay footage and details have also emerged, detailing various aspects of the game. You can check out all of it below.

Another new significant detail that’s been confirmed is the fact that, true to the developer’s teases earlier this year, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of The Day Before have been confirmed as well. There’s no word on when exactly the game will come to consoles, but we do know that that’s in the works.

You can learn more about The Day Before and its open world, endgame, progression, and much more in our interview with its developers through here. You can also check out some more gameplay footage released earlier this year through here.

Amazing Articles You Might Want To Check Out!

As we come to the end of June with still no release date in sight, The Day Before's eerily silence is almost deafening.

At a time when the world itself was in the midst of trying to survive a global pandemic, video game studio Fntastic released a trailer at the start of the year that took players into the world of a different kind of survival that included flesh-hungry infected roaming the streets.

Quickly becoming one of the most anticipated games of 2021, The Day Before seemed like it would satisfy the empty space left over from The Last of Us Part 2's post-apocalyptic horror and also give The Division players something to quench their thirst outside of the streets of Washington, D.C.

As we approach the end of the proposed release window of Q2 2021 set by the devs, it's beginning to look more and more likely that this open-world MMO might not see the light of day this year and maybe, at best, come out from behind the shadows towards the end of 2021.

  • MORE: Is The Day Before Coming To Console?

So, what are some of the reasons, in my opinion, for thinking that The Day Before might not arrive when it said it would? Firstly, we have the impending Q2 of 2021 coming to an end in a week so it's highly unlikely that Fntastic will ship the game in that short time period.

There's also the matter of maintaining some level of hype around the game's eager fanbase. Another trailer showcasing more of the game's world, different types of infected, weapons and maybe even a little context around the title's characters would be needed at this stage well before a game's launch date.

The most recent trailer for The Day Before was all the way back in April where we got to see a glimpse of the vehicles used to travel around the game's stunning locations as well as a short in-game presentation of the houses and stores you can explore on your journey. There's no doubt about it that the title looks fantastic, but the fact that we've had radio silence since then is certainly worrying.

We also need to keep in mind that a statement was made in an interview with Fntastic co-founders Ed Gotovtsev and Aisen Gotovtsev in which that said that a "pre-launch beta, but only for thousands of lucky ones" would happen. Obviously, this hasn't gone to plan for whatever reason. At least for their current release date of Q2 2021.

Of course, with the game being compared to such heavy hitters like The Last of Us this would undoubtedly bring with it some pressure and it feels likely that the developers are taking the time to polish and maintain a great game that will meet expectations. If anything, Cyberpunk 2077 mess of a launch has certainly brought with it more food for thought when wanting to push out a game that isn't finished so delays are always a good thing.

Whatever the studio decides to do, I hope they will keep their fans in the loop sooner rather than later. I know I can speak for many others when I say this but I can't wait to jump into the horror of its world.

As it currently stands, The Day Before will release on PC and it's still set to release in Q2 2021.
