Chocolate bundt cake glaze with powdered sugar

Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Stir in cocoa and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Do not boil. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating with whisk until smooth. Add additional water, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency.

Stir together sifted powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder, if desired. Stir in softened margarine or butter. Stir in 3 to 4 tablespoons warm water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until drizzling consistency. Makes enough glaze for two 9-inch layer cakes, 16 servings.

I can only find 15.25 oz. Cake mix. Is that 18.25 oz. a misprint?

Chocolate bundt cake glaze with powdered sugar

Totally yummy cake! I made this for a co-worker's birthday, and had lots of compliments. I added some finely chopped pecans just on top of the frosting. This cake was so good & easy, and I like the fact that there's no oil in it. I am making it again this weekend for family, and will keep this recipe handy, 'cuz I'm sure I'll be making it over & over! Thanks for posting a great recipe. -M

It was my friend's birthday and I needed a cake....fast. I happened to have all the ingredients on hand. I made the recipe as written and it turned out very moist and very tasty. I rate it a 5 star because of the ease of preparation and the delicious outcome. I'm adding this recipe to my cookbook for whenever I need a quick, easy, delicious dessert. Thank you.

Chocolate bundt cake glaze with powdered sugar

This recipe is destined to be a FAVORITE in my household. I made it for my daughter's birthday, as a sheet cake instead of in a bundt pan, and topped it with a recipe for Hershey's fudge frosting. It was phenominal!!! Everyone raved! Not only is it extremely easy to make, but it is one of the richest chocolates cakes I have ever tasted.

Oh Yeah!! We were invited to a friend's house for dinner and I volunteered to make the dessert. I am so glad I chose your scrumptious chocolate cake with yummy glaze. A great use of packaged mixes. The texture was very moist and wow, the chocolate flavor was intense. Very impressive. Thanks.

I made this cake for my dad's birthday, and he really seemed to enjoy it. (I didn't eat any because I follow a low-carb diet, but it certainly looked good.) It was easy to make, too. I only made a few changes; I didn't have cake mix on hand, so I made used 1/3 recipe of the homemade cake mix listed on the About.com Busy Cooks site. I substituted brown sugar for the granulated sugar called for in that recipe since I had no granulated sugar on hand. To that, I added about 1/6 to 1/4 cup cocoa and 1/4 cup vegetable oil along with the rest of the ingredients listed in this recipe. I used 1/2 semi-sweet and 1/2 milk chocolate chips, as that was what I had on hand. I also added a bit of vanilla to the glaze as vanilla seems to be a standard addition to chocolate recipes. I would definitely make this for someone again!

Absolutely fantastic!!! I substituted peanut butter chips for half of the chocolate chips, but otherwise folowed the recipe exactly. This is so easy and so amazing. Thank you!

This was super easy and passed the chocoholic Mom's group I brought it to today! No one could believe it had no oil & only 2 eggs because it was soo moist. I used canned vanilla icing heated and drizzled on top; I used dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet; and I decorated around the outside with powdered sugar covered large raspberries (see my pics). I want to experiment using white choc chips inside. Wonderful!

YUM!!! We made this for Easter and it was SOOO GOOD. I made a loaf instead of a bundt and came out with a few cupcakes too. Cake was super moist and chocolaty. Instead of the chocolate glaze, I used cream cheese frosting and topped with shredded coconut. Since it was for Easter, I put some Peeps on top, too. We LOVED melting the peeps on top of the cake. The chocolate chips made it super moist after being microwaved and the melted marshmallow tasted SO good on top of the cake. Will definitely make this again!!

OMG!!!! This is the best chocolate cake I have ever put in my mouth!!! Followed directions for inredients, however made a 9x13inch cake instead of the bunt- easier to take to work.I don't know that I will gve this one away to co-workers.....I did use the chocolate frosting in recipe #89207.If you use this as well,I did use fat-free half and half and did use more than calle for 1/3 C.The cake and frosting together are the best ever! You really must try:) I'll never buy boxed chocolate cake or frosting again!

Which ingredients are needed to make chocolate glaze?

Ingredients.
6 tablespoons cocoa powder..
5 tablespoons butter..
1 cup confectioners' sugar..
¾ teaspoon vanilla extract..
2 tablespoons hot water, divided..

Do you glaze a bundt cake hot or cold?

Glazing.
Be sure the cake is cooled completely before applying a glaze with a thin consistency. ... .
If the glaze has to stand for a while to wait for the cake to cool, place the bowl of glaze into a bowl of warm water to prevent it from thickening and to keep it from starting to set up..

Why is my chocolate glaze not shiny?

Possible causes and solutions. Only the exact amount of cocoa powder or chocolate in combination with the other ingredients in your recipe creates a high gloss. Some chocolate glazes can't be stored in a refrigerator or freezer, because a moist environment makes them lose their gloss and, consequently, their appeal.
