Got a weird problem. Brake light and ABS indicator came on today. Code indicated that there was an open circuit on the front passenger-side sensor, but the PCM and the diagnostic computer say the brakes are fine and the sensor is fine. I pulled the sensor and it looks fine, too. Took it for a drive, tried to lock the brakes up at 40 mph (deserted 4-lane), and ABS works fine. Cleared code but it and the dash warning lights always come back immediately. Show Am I right in assuming this is a bad sensor? Could it be anything else? Not sure why I'm getting the dash lights, code, and open circuit warning when the diagnostic computer and PCM are saying the sensor and the all braking systems are working. Joined

Mar 8, 2019 Hey everyone - I have a 2014 1500 5.7 sport with 60k miles that started showing service trailer brake, service abs, service electronic brake messages the other day. Abs and trac lights on dash. Cruise, 4wd, trac, abs don’t work. Took it to dealer for a scan, they said there are about 8 or so codes thrown because of a bad rear left wheel speed sensor. Bought
a new one, replaced it. Old one didn’t look damaged, wires appear to be fine. Started truck and got all the same messages and warning lights. My scanners showing codes C0037-1D left rear wheel speed sensor circuit out of range and U1412-00 implausible vehicle speed signal received. When I try to clear the abs codes my parking brake light flashes and truck beeps, but code won’t clear. I’m a bit stumped...anyone else experience this issue? Trucks stock. Battery disconnect and checking that fuses
are properly seated didn’t help. Could it be a bad abs module? Joined

Had this problem on 2 different rams, both times indicated rear right sensor (non communication) replaced wheel sensor ended up being bad corroded wiring between driver fender to back sensor. ran new wires fixed. Joined

Hey thanks for the advice. Maybe the Winnipeg road salt here go the best of that wire. Did you just cut the run near the connectors and replace it? Where abouts is the connector at the front? Familiar with where the rear one is after replacing that left rear wheel speed sensor. Joined Dec 9, 2009 · 32,794 Posts Joined Mar 8, 2019 · 9 Posts
Discussion Starter · #5 · Mar 9, 2019 That connector looks way bigger than the one near the wheel speed sensors but I guess they might all converge to go through the firewall? 2 wires for each wheel, so 8 pin connector?

so i worked on 2004 and 2007 and my plug was slightly diffferent had to take plug apart and run 2 new wires along harness, but testing the right wires to make sure theres a problem with it is best. have to check ohms while wheel sensor is turning possibly at the plug under drivers door towards fender Joined Mar 8, 2019 · 9 Posts

under there to check things out today. Only thing I could find near the driver door/mud flap was a 16 or so pin connector. Is that the one? Joined Feb 21, 2011 · 589 Posts
again mine were 04 and 07 connector was located between inner fender around drivers foot. so i would say that is likely it but you need unclip the connector make sure it is clean and not corroded. you can do a continuity test from the senor to the connector to try to find the right or put a wire tracer on the speed sensor to try to locate it. i would

I ran over a couple of clumps of snow 2 weeks ago, they had fallen off of a vehicle that was coming out of the mountains & it has rained quite a bit in the last month. My Ram is now 4 years old & has not seen roads

Discussion Starter · #12 · Mar 14, 2019 There’s a serious defect in these trucks around these years. Mine is a 2014. You can see from the pics that this wrapped up wire run is tucked away on top of a frame rail away from the elements and has not been touched or hit by anything since it left the factory. They overtighten the zip ties and over time it crushes the cables. Pretty scary as these
wires control abs and traction control and can go out at any time...my truck has 81,000 km, that’s only 50,000 miles!! 58.8 KB Views: 2,783

Mark What happens when wheel speed sensor fails?A failing wheel speed sensor will turn off your vehicle's traction control, stability control, or any other driver assist feature. Sometimes, a damaged wire could also prevent the sensor from sending data to the control module.
How do I know if my wheel speed sensor is broken?Common signs include the ABS Light coming on, ABS not working properly, and the Traction Control Light staying on.
Can I drive with a broken wheel speed sensor? However, when it comes to wheel speed sensors, a minor-seeming glitch may turn into a major safety risk. That is why in general, it is unsafe to drive a vehicle with a broken wheel speed sensor.
What happens when a wheel sensor goes out?Loss of Anti-lock Brakes
When an ABS wheel sensor fails, it causes the anti-lock brakes to be inoperable. Anytime a fault is noticed, the system triggers an alert, and the ABS warning light comes on. From here, the vehicle's electronic control module stops receiving valuable data from the sensor.
