How do i use zelle through my bank

It’s easy — if your bank or credit union offers Zelle®, it’s already available in your mobile banking app or online banking! Check your mobile banking app or sign-in to your online banking site and follow a few simple steps to enroll your Zelle® profile. You can find a list of participating banks and credit unions offering Zelle®.

Don’t see your bank or credit union listed? Don’t worry! Our network of participating financial institutions is always growing, and you can still use Zelle® by downloading the Zelle® app for Android and iOS.

To enroll with the Zelle® app, enter your basic contact information, an email address and U.S. mobile number, and a Visa® or Mastercard® debit card with a U.S. based account. We do not accept debit cards associated with international deposit accounts or any credit cards.

You can send, request, or receive money with Zelle®. After you’ve enrolled, simply add your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number, the amount you’d like to send or request, review and add a memo, and hit “confirm.” In most cases, the money is typically available in minutes1. To receive money, just share your enrolled email address or mobile number with a friend or person you trust and ask them to send you money with Zelle®.

Hundreds of banks and credit unions of all sizes across the U.S. currently offer Zelle® in their banking apps or online banking. By participating in the Zelle Network®, financial institutions are able to offer Zelle® directly to their customers, giving them a fast, safe and easy way to send and receive money in minutes with friends, family and businesses they trust - even if they have different banks1.

What if my bank isn’t in the ZelleNetwork®?

Today, over 100 million people have access to use Zelle® directly through their banking app – no additional downloads necessary! But, even if you don’t have Zelle® available through your bank or credit union, you can still use it! Simply download the Zelle® app in the App Store or Google Play and enroll an eligible Visa® or Mastercard® debit card. After you enroll, you can send and receive money with confidence to almost anyone you trust. Find out if your financial institution offers Zelle®.

Important: While you can typically use Zelle® with people at different banks, at least one person must have a bank in the Zelle Network in order to send and receive money.

How Does Zelle® Work:

When you enroll with Zelle®, your name, your financial institution’s name and the email address or U.S. mobile phone number you enrolled is shared with Zelle® (no sensitive account details are shared – those stay with your bank or credit union). When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or mobile number, Zelle® doesn’t actually transfer the money – it looks up the email address or mobile number in its “Zelle Network directory” and notifies your financial institution of the incoming payment. Your bank or credit union then directs the payment into your bank account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.
