Based at 68 hours every 2 weeks. If the scheduler (DPC) doesn’t schedule you those hours and you are available to work then your hours should be coded as HUB (Hours Under Base) so that you still get paid the same amount. There are 2 caveats that come with this: 1) you “owe” those HUB hours and they can have you work a shift later in the year and subtract them (ex you have 5hrs HUB and 2 months later they need you to cover a 10hr shift above your normal 34hrs/week so you will only get paid for 5hrs because you already got paid 5 hrs HUB from 2 months ago). 2) you have to be available to get the HUB (ex it’s Friday and you are off but only have 30hrs for the week and there is a call out, the DPC asks you to work the shift but you say no - you would then either have to use vacation hours to get to base or take an hr reduction for that pay period)

**If you are full time and not in CA or one of those other glorious states with labor laws then you are salaried and according to CVS pay policy you are expected to come in early and stay after your scheduled shift for a sufficient amount of time to ensure smooth operation of the pharmacy (this time is supposedly already calculated into your hourly rate so if your shift ends at 3pm and you stay till 4pm, you don’t get paid for that 1 hr over)

What is the pay outlook for Healthcare?

Healthcare jobs, already in high demand, are expected to grow extensively to meet the increased need from an aging population. Despite fewer opportunities for remote work than other professions, healthcare jobs can be found nearly everywhere, including both rural and urban settings. While careers in healthcare offer high job security, they also often involve long hours, including evening and weekend shift work, particularly for those just starting their career.
