How to forward calls from home phone

Via phone handset

To answer an incoming call or switch between calls:

Depending on your handset, select Recall, Flash or Talk, you’ll hear a dial tone, then press 2

To hang up one call and return to the other:

Depending on your handset, select Recall, Flash or Talk, you’ll hear a dial tone, then press 1

To reject an incoming call:

Depending on your handset, select Recall, Flash or Talk, you’ll hear a dial tone, then press 0

To turn on Call Waiting:

Dial 4 3 #, then you’ll hear an announcement letting you know call waiting is on.

Do you need to go out, but you expect an important call on your Gigaset landline phone? Forward your calls to a different device, like your smartphone. For Gigaset devices, there are standard settings. In this article, we'll tell you which those are. For other brands, the method differs per brand or per product.

Forward calls

You can easily forward calls from your Gigaset phone to a different device. Follow these steps:

Step 1. On your device, enter * 21 *, followed by a phone number and a #, to forward calls to that number.

Step 2. Call to * 21 * to stop forwarding.

Forward to a different phone number

  • 1. Enter 21. Start and end with an *

  • Enter the mobile phone number that you want to forward the call to and end with a #

You easily connect your landline to your mobile phone. Forwarding calls to a different phone number may differ per provider. Do you have a Ziggo or KPN phone plan? Go through the following steps:

  1. Enter 21 on your landline phone. Start and end with an *.
  2. Enter the mobile phone number that you want to forward a call to. End with a #.
  3. Do you hear a dial tone? The phone has been forwarded.
  4. Test if forwarding calls works by asking someone to call your landline phone.

Note: your provider may charge you for forwarding calls to other devices. Contact your provider for more information.

Turn off forwarding calls

  • 1. Call #21. Start and end with an *

  • 2. Disconnect.

You can easily turn of the call forwarding function to a different phone number. If you have a Ziggo of KPN phone plan, you can do this as follows:

  1. Call #21. Start and end with an *
  2. Disconnect.
  3. Test if call forwarding has been turned off by asking someone to call your landline phone. If the call comes in on the handset, your landline isn't forwarded to a different phone number anymore.

Change the number of rings
It’s easy to change the number of rings before calls are forwarded.

  1. Enter *47 when you hear the dial tone.
  2. Enter the code from this table when you hear the second dial tone. For example, enter 30 to forward calls after 5 rings.

Helpful info

  • You can make outgoing calls from your home phone while calls are being forwarded.
  • When Call Forwarding is turned on, you may hear a brief ring when someone calls you, but you will not be able to answer calls on that line until Call Forwarding is turned off.
  • If you have voicemail set up, incoming calls that would normally go to voicemail will go to the forward-to number. If the forward-to number has voicemail and no one answers the forwarded call, your call will go to the voicemail of the forward-to number.
  • If you forward a call, additional local and long-distance charges may apply.

How do you turn on call forwarding from a landline?

Just follow these steps: Dial star-seven-two (*72) from your landline phone and wait for a dial tone. Press the 10-digit number of the cell phone where you'd like your calls to be forwarded to. Press the pound button (#) or wait for a response indicating that call forwarding has been activated.
