4. Change The Headphones Or Method Of Connection

So, this is a mix of all the solutions mentioned above:

• First of all, try using different earphones or headphones. Connect them through the jack and remove them to see if this works.

• If not, then go ahead and use Bluetooth connectivity. See if connecting wireless headphones and removing them does the job.
• If not, try the adapter with the lightning port (for iPhone, for example) and remove them. See if this solves the issue.
• Often, headphone mode is fixed if you connect two or more headphones and then remove them. So, you can give it a try too.

• This is the opposite step of disconnecting all the devices in the first place.
• You can also buy new headphones and see if they work better because it could be a hardware problem. 

5. Use An Airplane Mode

So, the first step would be to activate the Airplane mode.

• Open the control panel of your smartphone by sliding it down.

• Then find and tap on the Airplane mode (the Airplane icon).

• Keep it active for 30 seconds to a minute.
• Then deactivate it.

• Roll a little bit of cotton on the backside of the toothpick and turn it into a cotton swab.

9. Change The Audio Source

• Whenever you play an Audio file, you will have the notification appear. It is in the System tray where you can change the Audio Source.

• You will see an option like ‘Audio Source’ or ‘Using the following audio source.’ Just tap on it and select anything other than the headphone.

• This works in case you have more than one headphone connected. It also works if you want to select a Phone Speaker instead of headphones.
• While this won’t disable the headphone mode, it is a workaround that will enable you to use the phone. You can use the phone’s speakers.
• You can also connect other headphones or audio devices and select them from the system.

10. Modify The Audio Settings 

Before we begin, this option might not work on all the systems. You will be surprised to learn how this works. But it can be a little confusing, so stay with us:

• First, go to the Settings of your phone.
• Find the Accessibility option.

• In there, you can find settings for Interaction.
• If you can’t find this option. You can check Call Settings.
• You can also use the Search Option and search for Call Audio Routing.
• It can be Call Audio Routing or Interaction.
