Where to Use

Shopping with your DBS/POSB Visa & Mastercard® Credit and Debit Cards is now a breeze with Apple. Just look out for the Apple Pay mark or contactless symbol at the checkout counter.

How to Set Up Apple Pay on iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap the Wallet app that comes pre-installed on your device to open it.

  2. Tap + to start adding a card to Apple Pay.

  3. Hold up the card you want to add in front of the iPhone or iPad camera so that it appears in the onscreen frame.

  4. When the device recognizes and scans the card, the card data will appear on the screen.

If the camera can't detect your card information for some reason, tap Enter Card Details Manually to type in the card information instead.

  5. Follow the instructions from your bank to finish adding the card. You may need to enter information onscreen, call the bank to get a code, or something else. Different banks have different security procedures.

  6. After you've verified your card with your bank, tap Next to complete the set up process.

  7. Repeat this process for all the cards you want to add to Apple Pay.

Once you've added a card, you may find over time that you need to make changes. Learn how to handle this by reading How to Remove a Card from Apple Pay with iCloud and How to Update Apple ID Account Information.

How to Use Apple Pay to Buy in Stores

Apple Inc.

Once you've got Apple Pay set up, it's time to start using it. To use Apple Pay to make purchases in stores, here's what you need to do:

  1. Confirm that the store accepts Apple Pay.

  2. Go to the cash register to check out. When the time comes to pay, hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal where you would normally slide your credit card. Your device and the payment terminal communicate wirelessly using NFC (Near-Field Communications).

  3. What happens next depends on the model you have.

    • If your iPhone has Face ID, double click the side button and then look at your iPhone so Face ID can authorize you.
    • If your iPhone has the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, rest your finger on the Home button to authorize the transaction.
    • To use Apple Watch, double click the watch's side button.
  4. Your transaction will be handled in the same way as if it used a debit or credit card, and your device will notify you when the transaction is approved.
