Update: Went for the standard 13 256gb

Coming from the 7 I didn’t think it was totally worth it to go to the pro. Everything else will be worlds better compared to the 7, and id personally rather not sacrifice lighter weight and slight ergonomics for a better camera and screen. Price wasnt a big issue, but i just couldnt justify the extra features that I cant imagine being that big of an improvement (for me personally right now), so i chose to upgrade to 256gb, and ill have a little bit more money to use for a case

Good morning guys, I know this question has been asked tons of times but this decision is wrecking me. I would like to hear the opinion of especially iPhone 13 Pro users who came from a larger phone like me, cause here’s what’s in my mind.

I have been using an iPhone XS Max for 3 years now cause I wanted to try bigger display and I liked it. I’m also going to say it not that much one hand use friendly, amazing for media consumptions but still a brick (less brick than the iPhone 13 Pro Max) of a phone.

Now that the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are exactly the same phone, except for display size and battery life, Apple made this choice, for me, paradoxically harder.

On one hand, I would buy the iPhone 13 Pro because it’s very comfy, one hand use friendly, lighter BUT less battery life and not perfect for media consumption. I also would buy the 256gb size cause I found a discount.

On the other hand, I would buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max because for some people is a little better than the already best iPhone 13 Pro. Perfect for media consumption and battery life that lasts a lot more than its little brother. BUT the phone is heavier, not that one hand use friendly and feels like you have a brick in your pocket. Here I would buy the 128gb size because of budget.

So here’s my dilemma: better to have a brick of a phone that lasts much longer or a manageable phone that lasts less? For heavy iPhone 13 Pro users: how is your battery life? Do you go through the entire day even with a heavy use?

Keep in mind I’m a heavy phone user and I use it for everything. I barely use my MacBook but at night to watch some tv series.

I’m leaving a poll below to make it easier, but comments are very appreciated, thanks you all.

Iphone 13 pro max vs iphone 13 pro reddit

So I'm coming from an iphone 12 pro, my battery sucks and its my main reason to want an upgrade and I can get it sold for what I consider a fair price.

My only reason for wanting an iPhone 13 pro Max would be all the talk about the battery being amazing. Do you think I should go for the 13 Pro Max or the 13 Pro?

Pro max is the one with the amazing battery. It’s the one I have and I can tell you, the hype is real! You just stop thinking about battery life it’s that good.

If you put the phone in your front pocket.... Pro. Purse, backpack, dumptruck, etc... go for the Pro Max.

I have a pro, came from XR, and the battery is FAR better.... just my 2 pennies.

tbh I'm a female so neither phone fits in my pockets :(

The 13 Pro’s size and battery life are pretty solid, but the 13 Pro Max’s battery life is better by like several hours from what I’ve heard. 13 Pro’s battery is good, but sometimes I wish I went with the 13 Pro Max because it’s the best battery life on an iPhone right now. I think the Pro Max is a 1+ day usage phone, while it’s not that difficult to drain the 13 Pro within a day of heavy usage. I think reviews overhyped the 13 Pro’s battery life, it’s good but it’s pretty much a 7-9 hour of screen on time type of phone. Pretty sure the Pro Max gets 13-14 hours of usage before needing to be charged.

You sacrifice portability for pretty noticeably better battery life— I’d go for the Pro Max if battery life is a concern at all.

Both models of pro are incredibly good with battery life, the max obviously just has room for a larger battery. I'd say pick between the two based on size preferences rather than the difference in battery because there is pretty much no way you will kill either phone in a single day of use. I can confidently go 2 days on a full charge with my 13pro with moderate social media, texting, and streaming music about 6 hours a day at work.

Since you already have a 12 pro, it really could be as simple as asking yourself if you want a larger phone or not.

13 Pro Max dude. I upgraded from the 12 Pro, battery is tremendous, and the big display is fantastic with Promotion. I’m a moderate to heavy user, so start my day at 7am. By 10pm, my battery is 30%-40% left.

The Pro Max; you get used to the size very quickly

No experience with the Pro, as I went straight for the Pro Max. I like the size...I've had most of the Samsung Notes and then the S21 Ultra, so I'm used to the big phones. Battery life is every bit of what they say it is. I had the S21 Ultra before the Pro Max and absolutely hated it. The battery life was terrible, even with as many battery saving measures as I could do. The Pro Max just won't die...tried killing the battery yesterday in the evening before bed and it still had 30% on it.

13 PM here…I have very tiny hands and was coming from a Galaxy s10 which is much smaller. Here’s my take.

  1. I got used to the size on day 1 and I love it but using it while lying in bed is not the best experience…which for me is a nice way to minimalist a bad habit I’ve been wanting to kick so again not bothered.

  2. The battery life makes things so comfortable. I don’t remember ever feeling ok leaving for work with less than 60% battery and not taking a charger.

  3. Initially I got those crossbody phone bags to carry it round with when I don’t have a handbag, these days it goes in a jacket pocket.

I had the 13pm for a week but returned it. It was just to big and heavy. I’m back on my 11 for now.

level 1

You can easily get 2 days of use from a iPhone 13 Pro Max. Actually, even though it doesn't have the largest battery in a phone on the market it has officially has the longest battery life which is crazy. I have the 13 Pro and most days I end with >50% so I don't think battery life alone warrants buying the bigger, heavier, more expensive iPhone. I think you would love the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro!

level 1

If you like the size of the 12 Pro then get the 13 Pro the battery life is still amazing and you get all the benefits of the Max. I easily get a full day and sometimes more with my heavy use with the 13 Pro.

Is iPhone 13 Pro better or iPhone 13 Pro Max?

If you want a bigger display and longer battery life, our money is on the Pro Max despite the higher price. However, the regular iPhone 13 Pro delivers the same great cameras, ProMotion display and overall performance, so you're not sacrificing anything if you prefer a more compact design and smaller screen.

Is 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max the same?

As we've already established, the Pro Max has a 6.7in display, while the Pro sports a more compact 6.1in panel. This means that you do get slightly different resolution and ppi (pixels per inch) scores on the pair: iPhone 13 Pro: 2532 x 1170 resolution, 460 ppi. iPhone 13 Pro Max: 2778 x 1284 resolution; 458 ppi.

Is it worth buying iPhone 13 or 13 pro?

If you are looking for the absolute best iPhone right now that has the modern high refresh rate display, an additional telephoto lens and premium build quality then the iPhone 13 Pro is the phone that you should buy but you have to pay a hefty price tag for that.

How much bigger is the 13 Pro Max than 13 pro?

It has a 6.7-inch screen compared to the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 13 Pro. For the rest, the components are identical. On both iPhones you still get the most advanced sensors of the brand, plus a Lidar sensor, telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, and an ultra-wide angle lens on the Pro Max.
