HOLLAND — After being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 crowd restrictions, the Holland/Zeeland Labor Day Truck parade returns Monday, Sept. 6.

More than 70 big rigs representing local companies will roll down from Zeeland to Holland the morning of the Labor Day holiday, giving residents a chance to celebrate and honor Holland's vibrant industry and workers.

After making their way down Eighth Street, trucks will park at the Holland Civic Center Place, 150 W. Eighth St., where the community can tour the trucks and meet the truck drivers. In addition to big rigs, attendees will also get to see construction equipment and vintage trucks close up.

This year, new to the truck parade, manufacturers will show off their newest semi-truck models in a dealer display area.

The parade begins at 9:15 a.m. in Zeeland on Main Avenue near Fairview Road.

The parade route heads through downtown Zeeland on Main, turning north on Franklin Street and then west on Washington Avenue, proceeding through the Zeeland roundabout and following Chicago Drive west to the I-196 Business Loop, where the parade route will continue west onto Eighth Street.

Trucks will travel west on Eighth Street until reaching the Holland Civic Center, where they will park in the north lot.

Free ice cream will be served free to parade attendees, sponsored by Hutt Trucking, in the north lot of the Civic Center.

Attendees will also find other family-friendly activities in the parking lot, including balloon artists, face painting and a selfie station.

The Labor Day Truck Parade has been an annual tradition in Holland and Zeeland since its first year in 2006.
