It can be used with most mainstream oil filters in adherence to a regular oil change schedule, with more frequent changes depending on mileage and ride type. This precision-machined spin-on oil filter adapter can is designed to meet or exceed OEM quality specifications for long-lasting performance. Warranty is for 2 years/24,000 miles, which protects against defects in workmanship and materials from the manufacturer. The LN Engineering Spin On Oil Filter Adapter is a must on all engines, especially those not yet retrofitted with an IMS Retrofit or IMS Solution, as foreign object debris from IMS bearing wear or failure can cause collateral damage in the engine as the factory filter cartridge bypass gets weak over time and allows the stock filter to run in bypass. This allows debris to exit the filter and contaminate the engine.

Removed canister & newly used filter with minimal fresh oil loss. Easy install all around, thanks to detailed reviewer’s torque specs. Unfortunately wasn’t able to find a K&N oil filter that would fit threads on the adapter so will stick with the Napa Gold. Great upgrade all around. (5) Kim K. April 6th, 2019 Nice Option! Had just changed oil with canister so haven’t installed adapter yet but the part is machined very well and looks to install easily at next change. I’m partial to K&N filters so will be cross checking to replace the Napa spin-on when time comes. Expensive but well worth deleting the canister. (5) JockDoc November 20th, 2015 It's a must have! This adapter is solid and very well made. It's slightly on the expensive side, but it pays for itself over time. This adapter allows you to purchase regular oil filters found at your local auto parts store. No more having to purchase porsche filters from the stealership or online. I personally use Napa Gold 1042 on my 04 Cayenne S. It makes for a super fast and easy diy. I highly recommend it. (5) Tommy R. November 12th, 2015 Great part This is a great part. At first, I thought it was a bit expensive for a simple adapter. But once I received it and looked at it more, its a well thought out and nicely machined part. Definitely a good deal. (5) Gabs September 21st, 2015 Directions Fron LNEng As pleased as everyone else! Directions from the LN website: When installing, be sure to lubricate both o-rings with clean engine oil. Screw the oil filter adapter onto the engine by hand. Once the spin-on filter adapter is fully engaged to the block, use a 26mm socket and torque to 25 Nm 18 Ft/Lbs. Also be sure to oil the filter gasket and pre-fill the oil filter before installing! Filter should be installed by hand then once snug, turned another 3/4 to 1 turn to finish filter installation, or to the filter manufacturers recommended specifications. We use the Napa Gold 1042 or Platinum 1042 along with Joe Gibbs DT40 or the LN Engineering Billet Spin-On Oil Filter and Joe Gibbs XP9 for the track. For street use in warmer climates, a 5w40 full-synthetic oil is recommended and for winter use with frequent cold starts, we recommend a 0w40 full-synthetic oil. Porsche approved oils of 0w40 and 5w40 are acceptable - use of thicker oils not recommended. Oil change interval should not exceed 6 months or 5,000 miles in street use. For track use, our Billet High Performance Oil Filter is recommended and required when running an Accusump and is included in HPDE Accusump Kit, part number 106-12.1. (5) Bruce R. September 2nd, 2014 spin on oil filter Fit my '99 996 no problem. Easy to install. Took an additional 10-15 minutes to the oil change. Used a 27mm socket to tighten. It was a little big but worked. Then a Mobile-1 M1-206 filter, 0-40 weight oil. Only minor issue. I have a skid plate and with new filter I had to tighten by hand because the Hazet filter socket would just barely not fit. Next oil change I'll remove skid plate and shave a wee bit off for the filter socket to fit. Overall well made and a nice improvement to the car.
