The leading researchers of these shadowy figures are The Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS). The team, founded by John “Trapper” Tice, is skilled in hunting and tracking using both traditional techniques and modern technology. To capture and hunt the unknown monsters of the Appalachian mountains, we have an elite team. The Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (A.I.M.S.) team is a group of seven native West Virginian hunters and trappers. These gentlemen research and track the unidentified creatures in the Appalachian Mountains. The team leader was John “Trapper” Tice. It was shocking and heartbreaking for fans when Trapper died in 2019 following a series of medical conditions. He was an ex-US Air Force veteran who had also served in Vietnam. He was a skilled mountaineer and tracker with an unending love for animals. Jeff Headlee is the co-founder of AIMS. Jeff is the brains behind the operation. He is an expert researcher with knowledge of all the mountain folklore and history. He also gathers witnesses to interview and handles the thermal cameras during night hunts.

Next comes the tough Joseph “Huckleberry” Lott. He is the Head of Security of A.I.M.S. He is also an ex-US Marine veteran. Lott draws on more than 50 years of experience to keep the team safe and sound on their nighttime hunts. You may think of him as a stern man but he is a gentle giant at heart.
Willy McQuillian is also the co-founder of A.I.M.S. He can build a trap to hold almost anything. He is the team’s backwoods MacGyver. His unique ability to fashion a trap out of junkyards is most valued by the team. Willy’s metal and wood traps can catch any of Appalachia’s cryptids. The youngest member of the team is Jake “Buck” Lowe. This expert caller is lovingly teased by his older teammates. But he has major contributions to solving the cryptid mysteries of Appalachia. The blast of energy comes with the name of “Wild Bill” Neff. The Marine Corps veteran and big-game trapper is an expert tracker and big-game hunter. He often assists Willy with the traps. But most of the time you can find him either climbing trees, scaling walls, or giving chase. These groups of seven share an amazing bond between themselves. They work together to solve the mysteries of the Appalachian region.
