Dining Table with Bench - Eat in Peace

Most of the conversations in a house happen at the dining table. A sturdy wooden dining table set can make your house look rustic and rich. If you want more options, you can check out 6-seater dining tables, marble-top dining tables, compact dining table sets, etc. Compact dining table sets are ideal if you’re short on space.

The Size and the Material

Your table needs to have enough space for the number of diners you want to eat with. But the table should also leave you with enough room to walk around it. The design of your table is important, but making sure it fits your space and gives enough seating is even more critical. Wooden chairs and tables provide maximum comfort for daily use and they won’t show regular wear and tear easily. Materials like concrete, bamboo, and marble are hardy too and come in stylish designs. Sleek modern materials like glass and MDF are great if you don’t mind a little more maintenance. If you’re confused, you can keep it classic with an all-wood option. Paired with the perfect dining chairs, your dining table should be a reflection of your lifestyle.

Measure the Space

Measure the space around the room. To allow diners to sit down and get up easily from their seats, try to leave 100 - 120 cms between your table and the walls. Square and rectangular tables are the most common types of dining tables. You’ll find a great variety of choices online. You can opt for a dining table with bench if you want a rustic-looking kitchen. A round or oval table can give you a little more space to move around since it cuts off the corners but still has a good surface area. Round or oval tables are great for parties and group gatherings.

Are farm tables out of style?

The style is becoming more modern, as people look to incorporate the more rustic, unpolished style of farmhouse chic into their contemporary interiors. Using natural materials such as wood, metal or brick can make any space feel more warm and cosy. It's the perfect balance of old and new.

What makes a table a farmhouse table?

Tapered legs are streamlined and thin, and they make the tables appear more modern than the age of the wood would indicate. Turned legs (they're the kind with multiple rounded edges) will give a farmhouse table a country feel.

What is a Scandinavian table?

Scandinavian dining tables emphasize organic materials, elegant simplicity, and minimalist silhouettes. According to Vanessa Emam, “A Scandinavian dining table is light and airy in design and rather slim in profile. It's sleek-looking and has minimalist details, but it's also functional and design-forward.”

What is a Lincoln table?

A table that fits alongside any chair or lounge seat, Lincoln is available in wood or laminate with five edges, three tops shapes and is ADA accessible.
