Some steam mop manufacturers, such as Shark and Bissell, may say you can use it on a sealed hardwood floor, but Stocki recommends against it because moisture could still possibly force itself into the joints between the boards and get into the wood and warp it.
Can you use cleaning solution with Shark steam and scrub?21 DO NOT add cleaning solutions, vinegar, scented perfumes, oils or any other chemicals to the water used in the Steam and Scrub Mop. This may damage the mop or make it unsafe for use. If you live in a hard-water area, we recommend using distilled water in your Steam and Scrub Mop.
Can I use vinegar and water in my Shark steam mop?To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop.
