Tails and tales summer reading 2022 book list

Win books and cool technology-based prizes in this year’s reading challenge when you:

  • Log your reading between June 1 and July 31, 2022.
  • Attend select live virtual events this summer.

By registering and participating in the summer reading challenges, and attending online events, participants of all ages will have a chance to win tickets to ZooTampa or tech prizes such as Bluetooth speakers, gaming consoles, headphones, and robotics.

Reading with the Rays

To be eligible for more prizes, pick up your Reading with the Rays game card at your preferred library branch beginning June 5, 2022. Youth may keep track of their hours read both in Beanstack and on the Rays card. Once the game card is completed, turn it in to your local public library for a chance to win Tampa Bay Rays prizes.

What is the theme for Summer Reading 2022?

2022 Summer Reading Slogan for all ages is “Oceans of Possibilities” to tie into the theme of oceanography.

What age is the Summer Reading Challenge for?

About the Summer Reading Challenge The challenge, aimed at children aged 4 to 11 years, is to read six or more library books over the summer. In libraries, there are stickers and other rewards for every book read and children who complete the challenge receive a medal and a certificate.

What is the point of summer reading?

Summer reading is critical, not only for helping kids maintain learning while school is out, but also for fostering social-emotional development, discovering the joy of stories, and elevating the importance of lifelong learning. Educators and parents agree summer reading matters.
