Marriott hill country resort san antonio texas

Pros:Staff was excellent, the grounds were beautiful and amenities were great. Of course kids loved the water park. Food was pretty good, typical hotel food.

Cons:It's ridiculous the amount of money spent here. Cabanas are way overpriced, food overpriced, and every kids activity was an extra charge. It felt like a kids frat party--i think this reflects more on the guests than hotel. I've come to expect a certain level of decency at JW but this just felt like a step down. No recognition as a platinum member. we went midweek and that was good as I heard crowding can get bad on weekends.

An awesome place to stay. If you buy breakfast up front, keep in mind, they will charge you again at the hotel. My kids love to go to this place. Lots of fun.

Great stay, despite the dearth of coffee. It’s quite ridiculous that an entire resort is expected to wait for an hour in line at an understaffed Starbucks. Even before 7am, the line was half an hour. The poorly manned restaurant bar wasn’t any better, so you are stuck with mini maker in your room or leaving the property, which I did. The property was generally understaffed, with no valets or bellmen on a Friday evening. At least they had a manager fetching luggage carts at the main drive. All that said, the staff they had was great, from the waiters, waitresses, lifeguards, front desk, etc. Our kids loved the water park and the front desk was helpful in working through incorrect charges (that I only knew about thanks to an alert from Capital One). So watch your bill.

The resort was excellent but understaffed in the restaurants and at the pool. Overall very good experience.

Great stay

Have stayed before and again it was amazing. My husband lost his wedding ring at the bottom of the water slide, told one of the employees and they put goggles on and found it and returned to him. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

I called in advance when I noticed two reservations in my name and one was wrong. I was told to contact enterprise who said if will take 3 days to escalate and try to cancel. The hotel charged me for the room and nobody cares at either organization. I am disappointed in both & contemplating canceling an upcoming reservation at the same JW Marriott where I planned to stay for a conference in two weeks. Furthermore, I was shocked that I felt like I was staying at an over priced Kalahari. I had no idea there would be more kids there than Disney when I tried to plan a romantic getaway for my husbands birthday,
