When driving and making a right or left turn, an error message pops up on the screen stating can not switch gears while in drive, then the engine shuts off, it has happened to me 6+ times in the last month, it has happened in the middle of a left turn in a busy intersection 3 times and almost caused an accident. Once car is shut off and you give it a minute, when you restart it takes time to turn over. This is so unsafe and I am afraid every time I drive as I drive my daughter in this vehicle and think this should be a recall for sure. I took it to a mechanic they test drove and had the same issue twice, they ran diagnostics and nothing came up, when they researched it they found the complaints on this website and said I should take it to a dealership and they read that it may have something to do with the oil being used to quickly and when the turn occurs it sucks in air. Please help!!!.

Vehicle shuts off with all lights flashing if I don't change oil before 2000 miles. This happened to me the first year I had the car and I was almost killed on the parkway. Burke auto said it was a software update. Then it happened four days later I was able to get it to the dealership right down the road that I live but couldn't go over 15 mph and it shut off twice in two miles. Then when I got the car there it happened to one of the technicians and scared the crap out of him and he said he wouldn't drive this car. But no one did nothing. . Now today I almost was in a accident at the food store because the transmission wouldn't stop and then the whole car stopped. It was brought to burke auto group on stone harbor blvd. Cape may courthouse NJ as they told me today they can't get to it and it's going to cost $$$$ then they let me walk home in the rain. I have had Jeeps before and they are great cars but this one is going to kill me. Please help with this matter sense I can't get no help here. The car is at burke motor group in cape may courthouse. Car shut off while driving on the freeway. Thankfully coasted to the side of the freeway with minimal use of the steering wheel. I put it in park and got it to start again. Then it occurred again a few minutes later after I had exited the freeway on a side street. Again put the car in park and then got it to restart again. Very dangerous. All of this with a baby in the backseat.

Vehicle was in motion at about 25-30 mph when the vehicle shut off completely, engine was not going and power steering, brakes, and all electronics would not work until the car coasted into a parking lot. The car was put in park and then turned back on as normal. Incident has happened four times now at speeds of 45mph , 20mph, 25mph, and 10mph.

I drive a 2019 Jeep grand charokee latitude. I approached a stop light last month at a major intersetion and the engine shut off. The car behind me almost rearended me with my new born. Omg this car is not safe to drive if it just shuts off for no reason. Later this month the front suspension started making alot of noise. The car has 43000 miles. Observed the passanger side strut mount clip that keep the strut from seperating from wheel wheel loose. Strut failed and caused issues with drive train. Car is on blocks in my garage know awaiting struts and strut mounts. The Jeep used a very small plastic clip to secure the top part of the strut, so in my case when the strut failed, the clip came loose and almost seperated leaveing the top of strut un-attached to anything omg! this a hug safty issue. Why has NHTSA not investigated this poor design. A placstic clip to hold a strut that is supporting the front end of a vehicle!!.

On two different occasions I have been in the process of driving the car down a city street when it has for no known reason shut off and become immediately inoperable. The first incident of this was in June 2020. I had the car towed to a mechanic where they could find nothing wrong. They changed the oil and replaced the battery but got no indication from the diagnostic report that anything was wrong. They suggested I take the vehicle to a mechanic that specializes in electronic issues. They found an issue in the steering column that they said may have been the problem. I had it repaired and thought it was fixed. This past Saturday (1/16/21) I was in the process of driving the vehicle down a city street when again, with no warning, the engine shut off. I had the car towed to a mechanic again and again, they can find nothing diagnostically wrong with the vehicle. I have documentation for these issues but it is in the glove compartment of the vehicle and it is at the mechanics. I can provide if needed.

Gear shift error lights! while driving all the service shifter lights came on. Pulled over to shut off the car and the lights went off. When I picked up to speed the lights came back. The car shuts off when turning and started jerking with take off. Once the power shuts off the car didn't want to start and turned over until it caught on. I drive around a large city with lots of highways for a living and I am afraid the car may loss power in traffic! this issue has been happening since summer 2020.

After spending $1,400 Dec 2020 at the putnam, CT, Jeep, Dodge, dealership, on the new shift, $300 being software update, and hvac issue. . . . . . . . Now my vehicle just shuts down while I am driving. The shut down happens five minutes away from home, right in the same spot, every day. Once it shuts down, I am stuck there, wait a minute and restart the vehicle. It begins to start in a strained sort of way. I live in a rural area so not too bad and now I do not leave my neighborhood on the huge hill side seeing there is more traffic, the car will be stuck on that hill which is a main traffic street. This engine turning off happens every time I take the car out in the morning. Seems less if I warm it up first and drive really slow as this has happened beginning of January 2021 and I am trying to deal with it. I am a senior citizen (not working) so I go on errands or apptmts in the morning. Began Jan 4th 2021 and continues.

Fast forward to Nov or Dec of �2020- my vehicle did the same thing, completely shut down while I was driving on the expressway. On i35 going about �65-70 mph. �again, I called the dealership was told it sounded like a maintenance problem. . A few weeks later, my teenage daughter was driving to pick up her sister at practice she called me terrified because the vehicle shut down mid drive and while she was at traffic light I showed the service tech the video of the vehicle doing this& he told me that I no longer had warranty-it was going to cost me $150 just for the diagnostics. �I left my vehicle there for 3 days, in those 3 days I got salesman calls asking to trade it in and no calls from service notifying what was being done to my car. Then get a call from service saying it was going to cost $400 to fix and I no was paying for another financial mess with another veh; rec'd call from ser. Empl. Nothing wrong with veh- mistaken my car's p/k with auto just need to put my auto back�this is extermly unsafe because I have been teaching my daughters how to drive they wouldnt know how to respond.

On numerous occasions, my 2016 Jeep Cherokee shut down mid turn or while driving. On many turns, it dies as I complete the turn. I am writing this complaint because on my way to work, my Jeep's engine shut off in the middle of the turn on a city street in morning traffic. This has happened before. My Jeep dealer said he has seen this happen to "10-11 Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/ram vehicles". His suggestions was "to get an oil change" and it will fix it. I went to get an oil change my car engine shut off in the middle of the busiest street in the city during lunch traffic. This has happened 5-7 times this year. I cannot believe this has not been addressed. This is life threatening. I imagine this is happening on the highway and free way with other customers. Cars were swerving to avoid a collision with my car. If you were to research this issue on google, it's the first result. The engine literally stops in the middle of operation. How else does this need to be phrased to get Jeep's attention?.

Driving down the road not even 2 miles from home the car just shuts off. Only warning was a the auto start/stop warning light on the instrument panel. Was able to coast to the a atop sign with no power steering or power brakes. Before coming to a complete stop the car started up again once I sat for a min or two. I didn't get 1 mile from that stop sign when the car died again. Same warning light. This is could have been deadly had I made it to the interstate and it stalled there. This has happened more times than I can count. It typically happens on the first start of the day. The car will run and then start running really rough for no reason and usually stalls out.

While idol at light dove & 29th st mcallen texas vehicle turned off and stalled (recall id#286936) in heavy construction on intersection increased the unsafe condition for my passengers (all children) then started �I drove across the intersection- mid drive steer wheel locked lights blinkining vehicle engine shut down while driving vehicle called dealership said to bring it in there were a lot of recalls on about this or I needed an oil change. �that day I was diagnosed with singles and ended up spending the next 2 weeks at home. All of these appear to be recall and created unsafe conditions not only for myself, my children, and their teammates (my other passengers) but for other drivers in heavy traffic and children riding their bikes I had to honk to catch their attention and put on my hazards lights so the vehicles behind me would notice I was stalled again on dove and 29th st thourghout all this time I kept getting calls to purchase extended warranty never rec'd call or text about recall until Feb. 1st, 2021that was the first time I rec'd notification in writing via text about recall.

Jeep engine shut off while on motion on city street and driving at low speed this happened twice early on morning there was no traffic so wife just stirred to the side and restart the Jeep. I call Jeep and they check it and say that the engine was low on oil and that was the reson it shut off. Then blamed me for not taking the Jeep to change the oil at 3000 miles, but the same dealer had tall me to changed every 5000 miles. An oil comsumsion test started and so far it shows that it consumed 1 quarter of oil on 1300 miles , dealer recomend a second oil comsumsion test.

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee 2. 4l engine stalls whenever the oil level gets below 60%. It usually happens when making turns or slowing down. The entire car shuts off while in drive and shows the battery light on dash. Latest time was when I was on the highway going 80 mph when the car stalls when making a turn around a bend. I have been in 3 almost accidents because of this issue. I've taken it in to a dealership and I was told it was to protect the engine if the oil levels go to low. Have to put the car into park then shut the car off completely, then start it up again. Last happened 2 months ago before an oil change and now experiencing with 61% oil life and checked the dipstick which was more than enough oil to run.

While driving vehicle on highway at 55 mph dash lights start blinking on then off several times. As I lifted my foot off the accelerator the vehicle completely shut off right in the middle of the highway! I shifted into neutral and restarted engine. Then as I stopped at a red light the engine shut off again while auto start /stop was disengaged as I restarted the auto start stop light came on and vehicle started. I continued to drive the vehicle. As I drove the dash lights continued to flash on and off, now the engine light came on and will not go out? the vehicle is a safety hazard to both my family and other motorists, as to the fact that the engine shuts down at will with out notice or warning of any type. I was driving our 2017 Jeep Cherokee with my family in the vehicle, including wife and 2 children (5 plus infant). We were traveling ~20 miles per hour when the car shut down. The car was still moving as we were traveling downhill, and was in the drive gear. We were unable to stop as there was no way to pull off immediately. The gas pedal stopped working first, then the brake stopped working as well. I had to engage the emergency brake and jam my foot on the brake to slow the vehicle down. The situation was extremely dangerous. Once the car stopped, we turned it off and turned it back on again. After power cycling the car, it returned to operating as expected.
