4.2 Choose the Configuration Language

After you are done with the previous step, you will be prompted to select a language for the application.

The default language that is displayed on the screen will be English (US). You can proceed with this if you wish to. However, if you want to change the language, you can tap on the link to switch the language.

A drop-down menu with other available options will now appear. Pick your preferred language from this menu and then tap on the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 5: Connect to Wifi

You’ll be prompted to ‘wait for the orange light’. Next, tap on the ‘Continue’ button at the bottom of the screen. Then, after the orange light starts glowing, proceed with the following steps.

A new screen will now open. It will instruct you to ‘Connect your device to the speaker’, along with the name of your mobile device and the type of speaker.

That will set up an ad-hoc network now to help you establish a secure connection to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 6: Link the Device to the Speaker

To link your mobile device to the speaker, you will be required to go to your device’s settings. Once you enter the Settings screen, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings screen.

Here, you will be able to view the Amazon-XXX Wi-Fi connection option. It will be operating in the setup mode.

If you cannot view this network, try moving the device and the speaker closer to each other. You can also try rebooting the speaker to connect it with the Wi-Fi network.

Step 7: Configuring using Amazon-Xxx

The Amazon-XXX network will be unsecured. Therefore you will not need to enter a password to access it.

Once connected, your speaker will confirm that it is connected with a verbal confirmation.

Step 8: Connect to the Alexa App

After finishing the Wi-Fi setup in your device’s settings, navigate back to the Alexa app to continue with the remaining steps.

The Home screen will display the connection of the speaker to your device now. Now, click on the ‘Continue’ button at the bottom-right of the screen.

It will display all of the surrounding Wi-Fi connections. Here, you can pick the network that you wish to connect your Echo and Alexa device to. This process will occur immediately if the Wi-Fi network is already connected with the Amazon account on your device.

Step 9: Change the WiFi Network

If you wish to add an entirely new network to your Alexa-enabled device, you can type in the password of the new network at this stage. Now, click on the ‘Continue’ button that you’ll find at the bottom of the screen.

You will see a pop-up message that says ‘preparing your speaker’ at this stage. In addition, you will view a progress bar now that will gradually fill up as the process completes.

Once this is complete, you will receive a new prompt with the message ‘Setup Complete’ at this juncture.

Step 10: Test and Finalize

After the setup is complete, your Alexa will say, “Your speaker is now ready,” with the name of your speaker.

You can test the speaker by asking Alexa any question and check if the response is accurate.

How To Change Wifi on Alexa for Touchscreen Speakers

Alexa is compatible with the Echo Spot, the Echo Show, and the Echo show 5. The common factor between all of these devices is their touchscreen display. Changing Wi-Fi on Alexa is also much more straightforward for these devices.

You will be able to view a cog-shaped symbol on the touchscreen. Click on it to navigate to the Settings option. Otherwise, you can also give a voice command like, “Alexa, go to settings”.

If you wish to change the password for your existing connection, you can tap on ‘Forget’. That will allow you to set a new password.

If you want to enter an entirely new network, tap on the connection’s name in the list shown and enter the required password to gain access to that network.
